Welcome to my Home Theatre website!
My name is Rob and I have been interested in Home Theatre for years. It all started back in 1993 with a Pioneer laser disc player and a modest collection of laser discs. The player was connected to a Harmon Kardon stereo integrated amplifier and a pair of cheap Teac 3 way floor standers. The monitor being a 27inch Mitsubishi monitor - which I still use today.
As you can see in the pic below it is a large living area. The advantage of this will be revealed shortly.

So that was the start of the HT, but lets get to the point and show you what it is like now.
Out with the Laserdisc and in with DVD (thank the heavens for DVD!). I got an Akai DVP2000 DVD player about 3 years ago, then a Sony STRDE675 receiver, Sansui floor standers, Sansui 10" Subwoofer, DTX centre speaker and JVC rear speakers. For DVD playback I currently use the Omni 3200P. This is a PAL Progressive DVD player with heaps of features (see here). I also have a Microsoft XBOX, it is an excellent DVD player, and the bonus being the wonderful games you can play on it.
Enough about all this equipment - what about the MegaScreen?? Where does this come into it? Well the "MegaScreen Theatre" comes from the fact that I am now the proud owner of a brilliant SONY VPH-1271 Multiscan Data EX CRT projector!! I have currently set up my HT projector to project the image just above my entertainment unit onto the white wall. Thats why it was an advantage to have such a high ceiling. As you can see the room is perfect for HT.
Here is a picture of the projector set up (still under construction obviously):

Of course you want to see some actual pics of the wonderful film like images produced- here are some from Final Fantasy:
and a close up of this:
Note that the digi pics don't do the actual images justice - they are much better in real life. It really does feel like you are looking at a real film projector. Heres a few more screenshots, 2nd one is from The Gladiator:

Features worth pointing out -
Thats all for now.... I will update the site now and then and I want to add info/links to setting up the projector, purchasing one etc etc.
